Simulation & Validation: Solving Problems Before Tooling Starts

Finding out after steel is cut that a fin blade is too soft, mask skirt pressure is uneven, or snorkel exhaust resistance is too high costs rework fees and weeks of delay. Simulation lets us run the design first and replace repeated trial and error with calculated results.

What We Simulate

  • Structural mechanics - Blade deflection, rebound and fatigue life of fins, plus stress concentration where the foot pocket meets the blade, so fracture risk points are identified early.
  • Fatigue and durability - Real world use cases such as repeated blade bending, repeated mask clip fastening and repeated strap stretching are analysed to assess long term reliability.
  • Fluid analysis - Air path and exhaust resistance of a snorkel, flow field around a mask skirt and hydrodynamic efficiency of a blade are used to optimize shape and vent design.
  • Wearing fit analysis - Contact pressure distribution on the skirt is calculated from facial measurement data, reducing marks on the nose bridge and cheeks while improving the seal.

FAQ

Q: Does simulation replace physical testing?
A: No. Simulation narrows the options and removes obvious failures before tooling, but final verification is always done on real samples with physical tests.

Q: Can you simulate a product you did not design?
A: Yes. We need a 3D model and the loading or flow conditions you care about. If only 2D drawings or a physical sample exist, we can rebuild a model first.
