AR Dive Mask: Why 2026 Is the Turning Point

Date:2026-09-15     Views:53

In 2026, the AR dive mask moved out of the concept stage. At IFA in Berlin, AREX introduced AREX ONE, an AR dive mask that projects depth, time and decompression status into the diver's field of view. In China, brands such as Guangli and Dreame have brought smart swim goggles to market. Upstream, volume production lines for holographic waveguides and silicon-based Micro-LED have come online, putting core components within reach of product teams.

A Category Taking Shape

For several years, underwater display was mostly a demo. In 2026 it became a product: devices are priced, sold and shipped, and the component supply chain has moved from lab to volume. The question in the category has shifted from whether it can be done to who can deliver it.

For brands, the window matters. The category is young, no one owns it yet, and the product definitions and supply chain decisions made now will shape positions over the next few years.

Where the Real Difficulty Sits

Getting to a product is not limited by ideas, and no longer limited by display components — Micro-LED and waveguide options are available today. The difficulty is turning a working prototype into a product that ships consistently, at quality, at volume. That takes a complete manufacturing and validation chain behind it, plus accumulated product experience that cannot be written into a spec sheet.

It is also why few suppliers can offer both a dive mask manufacturing base and electronics integration experience at the same time. That gap is the biggest uncertainty in the category over the next year or two — and also where the value sits.

The Next Two Years

Expect more prototypes, and expect the field to separate quickly. What limits this category will not be ideas. The divide will be manufacturing: whoever can build the product reliably and ship it is who takes it from the trade show floor into the water.

That is where we sit. DIVESWIM is the brand of Dongguan Tianhe Technology, a manufacturer focused on dive and swim equipment, operating a 15,000 m² facility with in-house injection molding, liquid silicone, precision machining and assembly testing. We provide OEM/ODM services for dive masks, snorkels, fins and goggles. If you are evaluating an AR mask product, we are glad to start from feasibility.
