Master 5 Core Skills for a Safer, More Confident Freedive

1. Breath Control

       Take full, diaphragmatic breaths before descent—avoid hyperventilation. Exhale slowly and evenly to conserve oxygen. 

2. Equalization

Use the Valsalva or Frenzel maneuver (pinching nose and gently blowing) every 1-2 meters during descent to prevent ear barotrauma.

3. Body Positioning

      Maintain a hydrodynamic posture: arms extended, core engaged, legs close together with finning motion to reduce drag and save energy.

4. Mental Calm

      ension accelerates oxygen consumption. Focus on slow movements, embrace the underwater serenity, and practice meditation to lower heart rate.

5. Safety Protocols

     Always follow the "Rule of Thirds" (1/3 oxygen for descent, 1/3 for ascent, 1/3 reserve) and never dive alone.

Essential Safety Guidelines

  • Buddy System: Always dive with a certified partner who maintains visual contact within 3

  • Depth Limits: Beginners should not exceed 10 meters. Each additional 10 meters requires specific training.

  • Warning Signs: Immediately abort the dive if experiencing headache, dizziness, or blurred vision.

  •                                                                                  Surface Recovery: Rest horizontally after surfacing to avoid "hypoxic blackout."
